Historic Dromore House

Built around 1826, Dromore House is a modest Georgian family home set in 3 acres of mature grounds just 25 minutes from the Giant's Causeway or 20 minutes from Royal Portrush Golf Club. Although it offers a sanctuary away from the hustle & bustle, Dromore House is only 5 minutes from Coleraine town and all amenities. Restored over the past 20 years, it has retained almost all of its original features. Relax and enjoy this spacious  Georgian country house with large open fires, generous Irish hospitality and home cooked locally sourced food.

Local Produce - The Breakfast

All accommodation includes breakfast. We offer freshly made  local produce

including a  hot traditional Ulster cooked breakfast,(local butchers sausages, Clontalkilty black pudding, home made potato bread  paired with local bacon and delicious accompliments)  Vegan & Vegetarian alternatives available. Daily specials including eggs benedict/eggs florentine, fluffy pancakes & bacon/fruit and delicious porridges...

Dromore house is set in a framework of beautiful trees with stunning views

of the pretty landscape beyond. There are places to wander through the

woodland where stunning views of the countryside can be seen. A small

It is very much a work in progress with our intention being to create areas of wild garden - a haven for wildlife. We already regularly see hares, badgers, foxes, squirrels & hedgehogs as well as a huge range of birds, who make their home in the grounds.

We welcome guests who come to N Ireland for the outdoor life. Golfers,

walkers, bikers and fishermen etc – all welcome to request a drying service.

We offer overnight drying facilities and a place to park bikes under cover

and indoor storage for golf and fishing equipment.

Loved our stay . Such an authentic historic house . Loved the wooden shutters on our bedroom windows and the vintage crockery for our tea and scones in the drawing room full of old books and photographs when we arrived . Great bath too and nice meal at the brown trout nearby . Woke up to the birds singing outside and the smell of bacon cooking for breakfast . Bit of heaven really .

  • I can't wait to go back!

  • Beautiful house in a perfect location! Both rooms were stunning and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious - highlights were the freshly baked bread made with chives picked from the garden, (hand squeezed!) freshly made orange juice, a fabulous rhubarb and lime compote and an excellent fry. There was also gluten free bread and even a designated toaster for my partner who is a coeliac. Angela went over and above for us. We were made to feel so welcome and at home. Greeted with freshly baked scones, jam and cream. She booked our taxi so that we could go into Portrush for the evening and even contacted a nearby restaurant to get us a last minute table. (FYI the house is only a 10 minute taxi from the infamous Ramore restaurant.) When we got soaked at the Giant's causeway she kindly offered to dry clothes for all four of us. All of our party agreed that we would rather stay in the Dromore than most, if not all, of any of the high end hotel experiences we've had. The house is ideally situated for a trip to all of the top sights dotted around the North Coast. I honestly can't wait to go back!

  • Out of a movie!

  • My mother, grandmother and I would need a full blog to describe what we liked the most about the night we spent in the comfort of Dromore House. It's picturesque, it's charming, it's extra comfortable, it's what one would dream of when we talk about a nice country refuge! Furthermore, we would need a bigger sign book to talk about the remarks and about the warm welcome from Angela. Hot tea and lovely scones upon arrival was exactly what we needed after the long drive from Dublin. "Please have a bath" is not a typical sentence you'd hear from an ordinary host...what shows how extraordinary was our stay. And off course, the breakfast! What is nit to like about it? Last but not least, we were incredibly honoured to be the first Brazilians to stay in the house! Will definitely return!

  • Would have stayed longer if had the chance.

Great house in a great situation with hospitality second to none, having just enjoyed a three night stay at Dromore House with my son and a friend i can highly recommend this establishment, we were three guys visiting to watch the motorcycle racing and we were treated like royalty, nothing too much trouble,i would definitely like to take my partner she would love the place , home made food as good as i have had and most of the produce grown in the gardens of the house or locally sourced , look forward to visiting again ,thanks again Angela.
